Point. Click. Done (final part, Misc.)

Globein: A unique box, filled with handcrafted goodies. It markets itself as a “fair trade” company, which is a good thing. The box is filled with baskets, glasses, coasters, planters, and all sorts of wonderful, handmade things! Each piece comes with information about the artist. So you know where your money goes. The selections make good gifts. It’s a little pricey at $40 plus $10 shipping.

Irish at Heart: A monthly box of things from Ireland, scarves, soaps, candles, jewelry, books, stationary, notecards, journals, cloth bags, tea towels… it’s pricey ($46+international mailing fees), but magical. Selections make good gifts.

SinglesSwag: Well, this kept showing up in my Facebook feed, so I figured, what the hell? Let’s have a look. It has two-tier pricing. I opted for the petite $24.99 a month, and I had a promo code to get 15% off the first month. The jewelry selections made good gifts. The 2 boxes I received included jewelry, makeup, a book, and a snack. I’m not sure what the snack was about, but ok. And it is very gendered, it's girl-things. I could have used all of the items as gifts (except the snacks), so, I could make it my Christmas/birthday shopping. Instead, I canceled it.

Express Scripts: I wasn’t given a choice about this, my health insurance requires it for all maintenance medications. It is cheaper (even cheaper than Walmart with the Rx card!). I don’t know if this is because of my health insurance. I’m not a fan. I’ve had ‘scripts lost and surprise charges to my checking account because everything was set to auto-refill. I don’t like it. Customer service knows you’re locked in by your insurance company and they are rude, arrogant. Medications can take up to a week to arrive (not cool if it’s say, heart medication). Great idea, horrible practice.

Pet box subscriptions. I haven’t tried any of these yet. I need to do more research. I have friends who swear by Chewy and Barkbox, so we’ll see. Chewy looks better as it has bird supplies.

This is the final post in this series, for now. I wrote all of them at once. Avoiding public spaces is a new trend in American life. Take advantage of it. Make your life less complicated. less stressful. Explore beyond Amazon, beyond Food Lion and Shaws. Spend less, get more. More excitement, more variety. Look at the world through a new lens. Find other ways to spend those hours you currently spend pushing a grocery cart or waiting in a line on hyper-alert. Breathe in the world.
